“NAMI Collier could not be more grateful for the committed support from Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. A three-year grant has allowed our HUGS Children’s Mental Health Program the stability needed to make meaningful change in our region. Last year, we served 794 children and their families, and next year we’ll reach even more,” explained Beth Hatch, CEO of NAMI Collier, “Thanks to this funding, HUGS clinical staff will continue to provide individualized interventions for families who would otherwise struggle to access mental healthcare services.”
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates four cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated more than $68 million.
“Mental health care is important for people of all ages, especially our children,” said Jeff Kunberger, executive director of Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. “Suncoast strives to support youth in our communities in a variety of ways, and this is one of them. We appreciate the work of NAMI Collier County and are proud to support its mission of building a stronger, healthier community.”
